The LA Group led the City of Saratoga Springs, its citizen-led Waterfront Park Committee, and its residents, through a consensus-building process for a scenic overlook and community gathering space on the shore of Saratoga Lake.
While the four-acre space had seen glory days with restaurants and a public beach, it had been left unmaintained and underutilized in recent years. Bringing the new park to fruition is a celebratory moment, marked by collaboration and a passion for preserving history, for the entire City of Saratoga Springs.
Visitors today can enjoy a three tiered park that offers vistas for all. Whether you’re here for a picnic, to drop off your kayak, or to take a family portrait, the City is proud to welcome visitors and residents alike back to this much-anticipated waterfront park.
The LA Group was responsible for the master planning and design, integrating community feedback, detailed phase and cost estimates, construction administration and oversight, and preparing guidelines for future site development.
As principal Mike Ingersoll said in an interview, “This is the beginning of a community asset. This park will allow people get reacquainted with the lake and its history.”
