A Compelling Strategy for a Community’s Natural Resources
The LA Group developed an Open Space, Recreation and Pathways Plan for the Town of Wilton, New York that consists of zoning and other techniques to protect farmlands, important natural resources, recreational resources, and scenic resources.
The LA Group inventoried the Town’s existing recreational and open space conditions, analyzed the Town’s present and future recreational needs, and developed a set of actions designed to implement.
The firm also explored new opportunities for open space opportunities including trails and logical trail connections between neighborhoods, parks, and regional rail and trail resources. It also evaluated land preservation mechanisms including term easements, land acquisition, purchase of development rights, and incentive zoning.
In 2016-17, the Town retained The LA Group to update and expand on the original plan. This included updated demographics, recreational updates, plus land and easement acquisitions for expanded current and future trail linkages.
